I realized that my work, which I inherited, ceased to be a job and became a passion the moment I dedicated every free moment to it. That is, forever. I've traveled thousands of kilometers in the two places that could teach me how to find the right path: England and America. I've visited hundreds of gardens, I've spent hours in front of certain perennial borders. I've met people from whom I've listened to genius and wisdom. I maintain endless and never-ending correspondence with nature. Gardens aren't learned in school; it's not enough to know how to put them on paper. To draw them. I note the blooms, the rainfall, the droughts, and the frosts. I listen to the suffering. I avoid making the same mistake again just to satisfy a whim. I love pruning. A timeless art without schools. Knowledge is passed down, but without true knowledge of what will happen next, no pruning can ever tell us where we went wrong. I love trees. Very much. Everyone. I've realized my lifelong dream. Now my garden is a forest. I have a forest for a garden. And I've reconsidered myself.
